Vancouver artist, Mia Weinberg, creates digital photograms that call attention to the tiniest fragments of organic matter. She believes there is potential in the microscopic to bring us face to face with something we too often forget: that life on this earth is full of wonder, full of mystery.
Mia’s hope is that these photograms will help the viewer become re-enchanted—even if only for a brief moment—by the truly marvellous in the everyday. She is inspired by the delicate details that reside in the groves, gardens and architectures of the smallest corners of our world.
Mia often chooses to work with botanical specimens that are in the process of decay because especially in their passage through death, they lead to regeneration, new beginnings, and exhibit extraordinary beauty.
